Volleyball

Seventh and eighth grade girls have the opportunity to try-out for the DMS volleyball team. All interested girls must have a current Sports Physical Form and a signed Concussion Awareness Form on file with DMS before they can try-out for the team.

Team members will have practice every day after school. The practice schedule will be shared by the coaches.

See below for more information for the upcoming 21-22 school year.

  • Coaches for the Dacusville Middle School volleyball team for the 2021 season will be Ms. Toni Johnson and Ms. Kelsey Zirkle.

  • Ms. Johnson is a current teacher at Dacusville Middle School, and below is an introduction from Coach Zirkle.

    • Hey everyone! My name is Kelsey Zirkle. I am a junior Communication Disorders major with a Psychology minor at Bob Jones University. While my major doesn’t include volleyball, my whole life has. I started my volleyball journey when I was about ten years old. 7th grade was when I started to play volleyball a lot more competitively. I fell in love. I had a great coach that helped me get to be a high-level setter by my 8th-grade year. In 8th grade, I had made the varsity team. While I was from a small town in Indiana, this was no small feat. I transferred schools my junior year. My new team was at a high level of play. I was assigned captain my first year there and was able to work with players that were at and above my level. With that amazing team and coaching staff, we won back-to-back state championships in our conference. Throughout all my high school years, I did private lessons, coached elementary teams, and helped run the junior high and JV teams. When it came time for me to pick a college, I decided my priority had to be my education and graduate without debt and had to put volleyball in the back seat. I am so thrilled to be back on the court and be the coach I had in my earlier competitive years. Cannot wait to meet you all!
